Gang Green's "Alcohol Sessions" were recorded in the Boston area in1985 by Walter Gustafson, Chuck Stilphen, Glen Stilphen and Chris Doherty. These tracks were originally part of the 7" EP Skate To Hell / Alcohol and LP's "Another Wasted Night" and "PMRC Sucks 12". They were all released between mid 1985 and the summer of 1986. The tracks listed on the song page are the songs that made Gang Green legendary.
First reunion and Another Wasted Night (1985-1986)
In 1985,Chris Doherty reemerged with an all new Gang Green lineup consisting of former members of D.A.M.M. (Drunks Against Mad Mothers), The Freeze and Smegma And The Nuns. Chuck Stilphen (lead guitar), Glen Stilphen (bass, vocals) and Walter Gustafson (drums). This second lineup is the most famous nationally as it was both the first to tour and the one that recorded the songs "Alcohol" and "Skate to Hell". This edition of Gang Green released the Another Wasted Night LP in 1986. This record is considered to be the band's best recording and is regarded as one of the definitive hardcore punk records of its time. The 16 song cd version that came out in 1990 is watered down with demos and a different sequence and does not pack the same punch as the original 8 song LP released in 1986.
